I was sitting in an incredible church in Vilnius, the
one right by the Gate of Dawn, marveling at the architecture and the
singing, when all of a sudden the entire congregation got up and went
out the back of the church. Wondering what was up, I meekly went out
the front and onto the street leading to the Gate of Dawn. There below
the gate the small congregation was posing for a group photo, as part
of one of their annual events. The ladies had dressed up in old time
peasant garb, and a full size cross was about to be carried on the
men's shoulders down the street and back into the church, as I was
soon to discover.
