April 2008 - A letter from Irene Mathyssen, MP, to Bill Rathborne.

March 2008 - Here's the sketch Philip made on a paper tablecloth in Toronto, while Jack was visiting. The circle is the funders, such as Joe Starinchak's Collaboration Group. The "J" is Jack, playing a quality control role. The "H" is Hatch. SF is the world's first solution factory, staffed by system dynamics modelers, experiments, and social scientists. So far it's just a vision....

January 2008 - Here's the shorter and more current January 2008 version PDF of the Dueling Loops paper, about to be submitted to the System Dynamics Review. This version covers 7 simulation runs, while the original version covers all 22 runs and provides a more thorough description of the behavior of the model.

The Dueling Loops

The most popular page on the site by a factor of 3. This paper presents a simple model showing why activists have been unable to solve the sustainability problem, and an alternative solution strategy based on high leverage points.

The Phenomenon of Change Resistance

This is the key concept that starts people thwinking, and causes them to explore the rest of the site. The concept is subtle, but has the potential to change the sustainability problem from insolvable to solvable.

The Powell Memo

The most eye popping short read (7 pages) on the site, if you have never heard about it. The memo was written in 1971.
