Tinker to Evers to Chance

A masterful three-way move or maneuver.

This famous phrase comes from the names of three players on the Chicago Cubs in the early 20th century. They were shortstop Joe Tinker, second baseman Johny Evers and first baseman Frank Chance. Over the nearly twenty years they played together, they became known countrywide for their uncanny ability to execute double plays, when Tinker threw to Evers who whirled and forwarded to Chance.

The concept illustrates the importance of a consistent, well oiled, short path.

Use this to get from point A to point C via a carefully designed point B.
